I’m not a fan of the big banner on the screen, but it’s an otherwise nice looking menu screen.

berkatto Technology•Disney has announced it will stop releasing DVDs and Blu-ray discs in Australia.English26·2 years agoFWIW, Gabe’s argument isn’t against subscriptions. The point in that quote is that legal access to content curbs piracy. Piracy will of course always exist, but there’s also customers that are willing to pay if is convenient and accessible.
I like the large headers as well. There’s probably a way to integrate them across all the tabs in the app. If it’s helpful, I could mock up some ideas. Also, great job with the app so far!
A flat tax system would resolve a lot of this.
Why is that crazy? If I loan the bank money and they make money on my loan I should get paid for it.
berkatto Cyberpunk 2077•With the release of Phantom Liberty, I truly hope this game is remembered fondly2·2 years agoI played day 1 on PC and think the game is great. It did have some bugs for me and it also wasn’t as feature rich as the developer seemed to imply in early showings. I’d give the game a solid 8/10 for PC launch.
That said, I haven’t touched the game since and would love for the expansion to bring the game to a 9/10 for me. We’ll see.
My guess is that Lemmy is a new platform. The fediverse is also new to most people (myself included) and that leads to people genuinely replying to posts instead of trolling around.
berkatto Technology•After 25 years, Netflix will be shutting down its DVD rental service this SeptemberEnglish6·2 years agoThey named their DVD service “Qwikster” at that time. Obviously it was a terrible idea and had to rebrand.
I have a full-time job and thankfully don’t need extra income. I try to relax and do things I enjoy when I’m not working.
berkatto Memmy - An iOS client for Lemmy@lemmy.ml•Memmy Poll - Gauging Community Feedback on Rebranding - Give Us Suggestions!English2·2 years agoSomething along the lines of “Luna” or Lunar” would fit well because of the inspiration from the Apollo app, and the fact that our moon is a satellite. The satellite metaphor could tie into supporting the broader fediverse while the app itself is the satellite. I also like other space related names like Orbit, Portal, or Transport.
I’m not a fan of the name “Badger”.

That’s an interesting question. I haven’t spent very much time thinking about how to define AI art. My immediate thought is that AI art can be OC, but it should also be labeled as such. It’s important to know if a person created the content vs prompting an AI to generate the content. The closest example I can think of is asking someone to paint something for you instead of painting it yourself.
berkatto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's your favorite third-party app that feels native to iOS/Android?8·2 years agoThe best was defintely Apollo. Memmy seems to be trying to push the native iOS UI forward, but it’s early days for that app.
While not the purpose of this community, make sure you go into your lemmy settings and have any languages you want enabled. The UI isn’t very clear so also make sure “undetermined” is selected along any other languages you’d like to see.

I’ve had Detroit style pizza, but I can’t say I liked it very much compared to other pizza styles so I don’t have good recommendations.
My favorite is neapolitan pizza so I’d recommend trying one if you come across a place that does them and haven’t tried it yet.
Yes, lemmy and kbin can access content from one another (assuming instances aren’t blocked on each side).
Does it matter if Apple starts supporting RCS? If they start supporting it, they’ll still treat it like SMS - green bubbles and all.
