There used to be a stigma against left-handed people, so a lot of lefties would hide the fact that they were left-handed. This isn’t really a history of how many people are left-handed, but rather a history of how many people are openly left-handed.

Yeah, there is no easy way out of this. And so long as it continues millions upon millions of people both inside and outside of the US will suffer. But that doesn’t mean we deserve this just for being born here.
Minorities in America shouldn’t have to fear being put in a concentration camp. Workers in America shouldn’t have to have their rights stripped from them,. Kids shouldn’t be put in a situation where they have to work in a meat processing plant, they shouldn’t have their chance at an education taken away from them. Trans americans shouldn’t have to face being pushed entirely out of public life.
All of this is fucking wrong, saying that we deserve it implies that we shouldn’t fight it. And we absolutely fucking should fight it; if we don’t it won’t just be us Americans who suffer.
