Sleepy, its emotionally exhausting at the moment, but not sleeping well either. Holidays and lots of time with the kids take it out of any parent too. My wife is helping loads, I’m a lucky man

So the stalks you use almost exactly like chives. Great in a tattie salad. The leaves you can turn into pesto, or add to your salad, or add to a pico de gallo, or wild garlic soup is a thing

Like all foraging: go a little deeper, don’t pick where the dog goes, and give a wash. And don’t confuse it with anything else, it will smell pungently of garlic

  • I am not a lawyer. But the supreme court isn’t the highest court in Scotland for criminal cases for instance, so it isn’t acually supreme. I think this is however civil and hence nowhere in the UK after doing some more reading. However the European Court of Human Rights does in theory allow a route to overrule the supreme court yet afaiu too

And I can’t see the SNP doing it as things stand

  • Given Salmond has died, Sturgeon retired, and 2014 was pre-brexit, pre Truss, pre Boris, pre Starmer. We have at least had a political generation between 2014 and today. With the orange goon at the helm of tanking the world, the timing isn’t great for independence, but who knows when a vote would be held, and how long negotiations would take either.

But Scotland will rejoin the EU. That’s it, that’s the selling point, the only reason to campaign on. We’ll setup Pound Scots and peg to the euro to enable transition as soon as we are able, to answer the next inevitable question.

Who will head this campaign? Can’t see Swinney leading it. Will Starmer acquiesce to this request? Can’t see him currently doing so, but also can’t see him making it through another GE currently, except of course the Tories are looking even more hopeless right now.

With Holyrood going to the polls next year, an independence majority is again likely. A request for a referendum is likely to be made again. Could Starmer grant one to settle this matter forever ala Quebec? Will Labour be able to refuse one given the kicking they are going to receive?
