Not with that attitude. C’mon, keep trying like the rest of us.

Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the Texas Central high-speed rail and when I saw this I had to start furiously masterbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this comment. Now there is a whole train of men masterbating together at these suggestive punctuation marks. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW.
I wasn’t sure what to expect. But this hit all the right notes. Fuck yeah.
Except not as charming, nor intelligent.
In my head, it’s Another One Bites the Dust.
I firmly believe that the gene for “wants to do crazy shit” and the gene for “has mad skills” will converge given enough time.
I have to do a double-take every time I try to go on a boring, run of the mill down escalator. (I’m perfectly fine going up.) It’s like I’m waiting for vertigo that never quite comes, just threatens.
I feel that way in some sports stadiums. Like… I can intellectually recognize that hundreds of thousands of people use these stairs without incident every year. But it does not feel that way in the moment.
I’m going to agree with the exception of the new mech designs. The originals are iconic, and Origin did a fantastic job updating them for modern times. Don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with what they went with for GQX. But I’d want a proper remake to keep the general mech aesthetic.
I’m not sure they’re going to be more than background characters, especially if GQX is only going to be 12 episodes. There’s, like, a LOT they can do with this alternate timeline, and so far that have my total attention. But with a limited runtime, it’s probably better to focus on the new characters (I’m counting Challia as new here) and tell their story.
Glad you were able to enjoy despite the lack of background. The GQX movie was all laid out chronologically, so this is how it opened. Straight up nostalgia assault. I didn’t want the “prologue” parts to end, gimme the whole OYW in this alt timeline lol.
He was most definitely not a nobody in the OG novels. <3 The movie referenced a lot of the dynamic featured in the book version, gave me chills. I suspect we’ll see more of the flashback stuff from the movie in later episodes for context.
I really love how GQX is pulling from multiple UC sources for this alt timeline. The novel version of Char is by far my favorite, even though it’s non-canon. Seeing glimpses of that in the GQX movie was amazing.
CGP Grey did a great video going over the psychology of this phenomenon.
Just enough to get the libertarians frothing before the scowl.

Kill a rich white man, death penalty.
Also “charged with terrorism.”
And even if it’s available in your state, it doesn’t cover every situation/form. The most glaring omission is gig work IMO.
It takes some time to be comfortable enough to break the fart barrier.
Yeah, Shuckle!
